16gb x 2 in sodimm format

    Anyone think we're going to see these in the next year or so? Ivy Bridge supports it...
    I would love to have that much ram installed in my portable.

    See it? Sure. Be able to afford it? Not likely. 8GB was well over a thousand when it first came out, took a couple years to be affordable (sub $300 per module).

    cost is a relative measure.

    i paid over $300 for 8 megs of ram at one point in my life. :)

    does anyone manufacture it *right now*? (right now it the time i probably can't afford the cost).

    None that I'm aware of. I only checked Crucial and a couple store sites, nothing but 2x8 when looking for 16GB SODIMM modules.
