So I think I’m the only person alive who can’t figure out how to apply Torras protectors. What is the brand of protector sold at the Apple Store that they apply for you and how much is it?

I might give Torras another shot but I failed miserably with my 15PM. I just couldn’t figure it out. Of course I got a very decent scratch on that screen within a week of launch and it has haunted me all year so I really want to avoid that this time around.

It was Belkin, I’m not sure if that’s still True. And it’s covered by a warranty, so you can bring it back and they will replace it (have them explain the details). Our mall also has Zagg that does replacements free.
I personally could NEVER do it myself to my satisfaction. That said, the last two models I have not added a protector, I like the feel of the original glass to much. But my accident prone daughter and my husband who stuffs his pockets both have one - I think 1 of each. The Zagg one is a mess but I think that’s my daughter’s handling.

Belkin, $40 I believe, but will mail you a new one it it breaks, which it will. They just make it a pain to do, but doable.

It is usually around $39:

I have one on my 15 Pro Max, and it is the first time I haven’t had to replace the screen protector within a year. [knocks on wood]

Ok so it looks like you have to buy it in store only and not through the app? Looks like I’m making a launch day trek into the madhouse regardless haha
The store will use the machine if you buy it in house. Otherwise, it is up to you to apply the screen protector. It is a VERY quick process.

Are the Apple Store screen shields decent compared to otter’s ? I have one on order for the 16 pro max

I've yet to have a Belkin screen protector break (my Wife has had one break, but she's more clumsy with things). My current one has been on my 13PM since launch day. I had to fit it myself as that was the year they pulled the shop fitted one's owing to quality issues. A bubble appeared just below the notch about 5 months ago, that's slowly getting bigger. I did buy a replacement from Amazon, I just haven't got round to fitting it & never will now - 16PM arriving Friday.

You're not the only one, i bought 2 packs of TORRAS (4 screen protectors) last year, and only the 3rd one was
successfully applied. First 2 had a lot of dust..even though i applied them in a steamed bathroom.

This year, i ordered TORRAS again.

i buy ESR with the simple install frame. you place the frame over the iPhone and the screen protector fits right inside!

if you are concerned about lint.... a trick i found years ago is to turn the shower on in the bathroom and let the room get really steamy... then put clean the screen and put the protector on! no lint!

i use the same brand/style for iPads and didn't even do the shower part for hubby's new mini... just cleaned the screen really good... checked for lint and was done in a couple minutes!

The belkin one at the apple store has terrible coverage and sharp edges. Torras has been my favorite as of the 15 pro series as you cant even tell its on there with the wrapped borders. I dont use a case so the Belkin was terrible in terms of looks and feel.

I always get the Spigen GLASSR ones which consist of the protector pre-applied in a frame and you clean the phone, remove the film on the underside of the frame, press the frame onto your phone (only fits one way round) and press down and hold for 30 seconds of so. Then remove the frame. Job done! Has worked really well for me and about half the price of the Apple-applied Belkin one.

I agree, the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit is very good; reasonably priced, easy to install, no issues whatsoever.

Yep agree with this. I just put it straight on after I take the paper off the phone out of the box

Mine broke within 48 hours just carrying it in my pants pocket together with another phone 🥴

They also refused to replace it at the Apple Store initially. They told me they only change them if it wasn't applied correctly so I just walked out of the store, lifted it a little for bubbles.to built up, walked in again and then they replaced it 🙈

It’s only been since Saturday but I’m really happy with this protector so far. Their application was flawless and I have the QR code for replacement through Belkin if it breaks. I forgot to feel for sharp edges but I use a case so it’s not an issue for me. No touch sensitivity issues either and no rainbows.

Last year my 15PM had a deep gash within 3 days because I hadn’t gotten around to getting a screen protector yet and it bothered me all year lol. The only reason I didn’t go on day 1 this year was because the line at the Apple Store was too long. On Saturday the store pickup line was long but the walk in line was empty so the whole process was very fast.
