16X DVD-R's taking ~30 mins?

Could it be the discs? I have Fujifilm DVD-R's and they write really slowly on my 17" PB.

Does the drive not like the media? Cheap media perhaps? Sony's were burned in about 7 minutes.

Well, they're certainly not burning at 16X

You will get tthe LOWEST common denominator of the drive, the blank disk, and the speed of the data coming off your hard drive.
