17.1 and do not disturb removes app badges

I normally use Do Not Disturb during meetings and such. But now in 17.1 it seems like this mode also removes all app badges so I can’t see if new messages or mails arrive. Is this on purpose and can I tweak this focus mode to still display app badges?

If you go to Settings -> Focus -> Do Not Disturb -> Options there should be a toggle for "Hide Notification Badges".
