17" 2.93 7200RPM Battery Performance

how's the heat? the 15" unibody when set to better performance is VERY hot.

At those specs at average use with graphics set to better performance I'm getting about 4.5 hours. WIFI on. LCD brightness all the way up. It's also taking 4 hours to recharge back to 100%.

I honestly thought I'd be getting a good 5.5-6 hours out of it but hey I still love this machine.

you getting nice time, keep in mind you are using non-stock HDD (7200rpm) also, 9600 graphics (I think) etc. In the other side manufacturers almost always exaggerate their estimates.

Looks good to me, technicalities aside. That battery life with graphics blazing is pretty good.

Thanks for the info, it's nice to see some real world use, particularly for those of us still (im)patiently waiting. I'll definitely be happy with that performance.

It does get toasty when you push it but the thing I notice (or haven't noticed) is fan noise. VERY QUIET! I mean I have to hold it up to my ear to hear the buzz of the fans at 100% CPU loads. I do see the fan RPMs go up in my meters but they are super quiet.
