For me it’s that I refuse to charge anything overnight. So 70% would make me feel more secure that the phone won’t die during the night. But that’s just me and my use case. I have had the 13 mini and I loved it - but could not live with the battery esp. since my cards, travel pass etc are on my phone
Out of curiosity, why don't you charge overnight?

Refuse to charge overnight? Curious...

I slow charge with a 5w overnight because who cares how long it takes, and I'm asleep.

I charge every night too…no brick days will be here soon…all the talk about carrying around a 2 pound phone so you can have 70% battery left at the end of the day so the cycles stay up made me laugh.

I tried the iPhone mini cause it was small and light but the screen size left a lot to be desired. This is almost as big as a pro max without the eight and girth. its perfect

So. Why do I care if the battery is 20% at the end of the day and goes on the charger instead of 70% like with the brick 16 Pro Max that I currently have.

Now I’m getting a lighter, thinner, smaller phone and not carrying around a brick. Seems like the perfect phone for me.
Your point is very well taken. IMO far too many folks here worry about battery % ad nauseam. Just use the damn thing, and adjust charging (really easy by placing MagSafe at one's regular locations) if necessary, or buy an external battery.

Oh, we get it. We just don’t buy into it. Why not carry a nice phone around instead of a brick all day long and then go oh I’ve got battery left lol… in this day and age if you don’t know how to add a little extra charge in your battery if you need it during the day somewhere, then you shouldn’t be carrying a phone at all anyway. Feel.

It may not seem important right now with a fresh battery and an OS optimised for the latest apple silicon.

Wait a few years after your battery health drops to about 80% and the OS gets heavier and you may find yourself appreciating the buffer of a larger battery.

But that’s also another problem for another day.

You're absolutely right of course. But I think a decent amount of people these days belong to the IUP or just decide to trade in their iPhone every year and for those people that is not an issue. I was tempted to join the program this year myself and get the Air. That way if it proved to be too compromised for my tasteI could just upgrade to a different iPhone model next year.

I am curious as well. What is your phone doing at night other than....maybe waiting to charge overnight?
