Updated to 3 gigs ram. I was wondering with the upcoming Snow Leopard if my system would run better if updated my HD from 160 GB? And, if so, how many GB and what name HD?

Presently my system is running great, no problems.

In my current HD I have 112 GB free space.

I wouldn't upgrade because 160GB is more than enough for you atm. It won't be faster unless you upgrade to SSD
