    Hey guys,

I've just installed a new hard disk drive for my macbookpro2,1 (late '06 2.33Ghz) and have encountered some trouble with one of the two T6 screws that fits the hard disk bracket to the motherboard (the top northerly one). Basically, everything came off ok, but when I tried to get it back in it will NOT fit in at all (it just spins around endlessly as if it's not long enough - it WILL fit in without the bracket as a test). I tried tirelessly to get the little b*gger in but had to give up, so right now, only the bottom T6 screw is attached to the lower part of the bracket, I used a bit of the yellow tape to help keep the top part down (this goes over the hard disk/bracket and comes out where the battery is...hopefully the battery heat won't cause this a problem).

Anyway, if anyone else has encountered anything like this please let me know...and any suggestions would be good (I think buying a longer screw might do the job). For now it seems to be fine.

    Cheers

It sounds like you stripped either the screw or the hole.
