Prepared for Shipping YET?
So did everyone get the prepared for shipping notice? I'm wondering now if ordering from ADC slows things down as far as getting ordered processed.

Order went in today.
My latest order just went in today. This one is replacing a 17" UNI MBP I just received last friday. It had a bad video card. So the wait begins again. All the order status page says is ships in 5-7 business days. no estimated shipment or delivery date.

ooooo...that sucks...Was it a stock model, 2.6 or the 2.9 version? What kind of video problems were you having?
The new one is a 2.9 version. I got Apple to upgrade me.
The video problem was intermittent (usually once the computer really started working hard) vertical green lines of flickering pixels. I attached a picture.

Ordered on the 19th, default configuration, shipped on the 25th, due for delivery tomorrow 27th Feb. UPS tracking shows it reached Germany yesterday, so delivery tomorrow looks fairly likely. The original delivery date quoted was 9th March, so it has gone a lot quicker than expected.
ADC or Corporate program effect?
Well, I ordered through the corporate program (my company gets a 10% discount), on February 9th. Ship date was March 10th initially, and has not changed since.... Looks like the corporate program has a much lower priority, not sure if the ADC has the same problem... Getting quite annoyed at Apple shipping machines ordered now MUCH faster than the machine I ordered weeks ago... (sigh)
EDIT: Well, mine just shifted to 'prepared for shipment' even though the ship date still shows Mar 10:

I have no Assigned Carrier or Carrier Tracking Number.

wow..From your picture looks like you had everything migrated to your laptop already. That would be annoying having to reload all your apps and information back. Nice upgrade in processor for your troubles though.
Yeah, I'm getting the feeling we're sitting in the back of the bus on this one. This is the first time I ordered anything through the ADC, but the 20% discount is very nice. I also think that the stock 2.6 models are being shipped really fast. Some guy in here ordered same time as me (2.6 model) and is shipped already.

ahhh...I gave up!!! Canceled my order online and went down to the Apple Store and picked up a stock 17" Unibody MBP. They had like 4 of them in stock just this morning. Damn...she's beautiful...I haven't had time to play with it yet...Just opened it up to look at before rushing off to class.

So, brave, do we know what that means from a timing perspective? Just dropped by the Apple Store in Leawood, KS, and they had the 2.93Ghz in stock! Very annoying to have ordered weeks ago, not have a ship date, and for the stores to have inventory before my 'pre order' ships..... Bummer.
What? They carry the 2.93ghz 17" MBP for sale? or is just a display model? I called the apple stores down here and they only carry the stock base 2.66ghz model!
How come your store gets the 2.93ghz but not others? That's not right!
I just checked mine... status changed from "Not yet shipped" to "Prepared for shipment" - hopefully just a couple more days to get it...
I expect different stores get different models.... No matte finish ones were in the store, but they had display models of the 2.66 and at least one 2.93 in stock for sale... As I am waiting (patiently) for my 2.93 to ship I was not interested in the one they had in stock (well, only MILDLY interested...).

Ordered my 2.93 MBP w/7200 drive on Friday 2/20, still waiting for shipment, and CC hasn't been billed yet. No hold has been put on the CC either. Originally 7-10 day shipping, but as of Tuesday it went to 5-7 day. I'm wondering what the deal is.

i guess its not to late to cancel this. But not sure if i REALLY wanna
spend another $630. I do photography and video editing but i really do the
bulk of editing on my mac pro since i have 2 30in monitiors and much more
real estate to see whats going on .... somebody give me the pro's and con's of the SSD.
