17" MBP Bulging Battery!

A co-worker of mine has a Rev. A 17" MBP. He came into work today to find that his laptop had powered down by itself overnight, The culprit - a bulging, non-recall battery:

Scary. He took it into the Apple Store and they gave him a replacement. Anyone hear anything about bad MBP 17" batteries?

there are plenty of cases of this happening, and not just 17" ones.
