That is a nice deal on the older version. It is likely a clearance sale so if this appeals to you better move quickly.

Microcenter is a great store and I bought a 2009 MB for only $799 and my current 2010 13" MBP there for only $999 + Tax. Tax at my New Jersey store is only 3.5%, half the normal state tax making it, or anything else purchased at this store location, an even better deal.

Weren't they having issues with the nVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphic chips. I have an early 2008 MBP and the logic board ended up crapping out and needed to be replaced along with the graphic chip.

Even if this chip isn't the one with problems, I would most definitely advise to get the AppleCare plan. It pays for itself the first time you have a problem.

I'm looking heavily at the 13" actually for $999 and then getting the apple care from amazon for $200.

Just so happened that the 17" deal must have just come on because I hadn't noticed it before. Didn't seem too bad. I'm prefer to get more real estate than 13", but I don't think I'm willing to pay the extra $600 for a 15" new.

Saw the 17 in person the other day (yeah, been a while). Looks like, just seems a little too big.

Does anyone know the difference between the mc266ll vs the mc227ll? I am thinking about selling my current gen 13" and upgrading to a 17", MicroCenter has both available but I do not know the difference.
