Did you find the display had to be given a little more push to close the latch? I just installed those Radtech cushions on my 15" TiBook in the recommended positions and just felt a little worried about having to give it a little extra push to get the latch down.

Any thoughts...

I do apply more pressure to close the lid. But I think the structural rigidity of the 17" can handle the slight pressure. I also know by the frame marks on the handrest without the cushions that there was pressure when inside the backpack, otherwise there would be no marks. I feel the cushions help distrubute the exterior pressure evenly on my laptop. I also think a razor blade may shave the cushions down to the desired thickness for those with a magnifying glass and a steady hand, but I would slice the cushions before attaching them to the Powerbook. I am not sure about the 15" Powerbook and have never used cushions on it. Do they in fact prevent screen marks on the 15"?

what did jobs say about the G5??..oh yeah "kick-ass!" I think it applys to this machine as well. I loved the 15" Powerbook, but this thing is just another level. Its BIG, but at the same time, very sleek and unintrusive. Unlike the PC counterparts, it isnt 10 lbs and 2 inches thick.

I agree with the pro's and con's listed. However, I will also add that this machine is SOLID. I can pick it up open with one hand, it doesnt flex, feel weak, make cracking sounds, etc. It feels like a solid piece of metal..VERY impressive (and no, I am not swinging the thing around the room, but even the 15" when you pick it up may creek a little)

It was worth the cost of upgrade, to say the least.
