The 17" MBP is on sale at woot.com for $1500-1600, depending on model. Looks to be slightly cheaper than the Apple refurb store.

It's very likely it's only used, and not an Apple Certified Refurbished model.
Comes with one year Apple warranty and eligible for AppleCare. Also says factory reconditioned.
