Wow.. those toshiba SSD scores suck.. They're no better then the gskill 256 I put in mine for half the price. Shame on apple for that one..

I'm a little discouraged with my results. Based on some of the others who have posted results does this mean the SSD HD is THAT much faster?

Could someone provide me some general information as to why my score is so low?

Hmm.. is your gpu set on higher performance?? Also are you running any heavy apps in the background??

Thanks

funny, you have about the same score as me and i have a 2.66 proc. i was thinking it was the processor, but based on the fact that we both have hd's instead of ssd, it appears that SSD makes a huge difference. can this be?

can any of you guys with SSD pop a sata hd in and re-score? i'd be curious to see what the numbers look like.

I was also thinking the same thing. I would love to see a HD comparison. I don't have an SSD drive to try here at home.

any have ssd and a hd they can test?

i'd love to see the comparison scores between someone with a 2.93 ssd then pop in a hard drive and re-run xbench. can someone do that? pretty please. :)

the comparisons i've seen suggest ssd makes a bigger difference the processor bump from 2.66 to 2.93.

anyone?

Why not just make a benchmark without the hdd (turn the hdd test off)? Then you'd see how much difference it makes. Or just bench the HDDs and SSDs to see how it impacts performance.

I know without the hdd test I get about 190 points and with it I get 105 points (I have a 5400 hdd).

Haha Windows 7 (the new windows) only rates my Macbook as a 2, everything comes in at 6.5 except the graphics which are 2?!?! wtf?!?! I didn't know the 9600 graphics card was that lame..

Good idea, i ran several new tests and it's interesting to see how slow my HD is.

Anyway thanks 4 that idea.

Edit* Here is the test without the HD.

A much better score and it would appear my HD slows things down.
