Use a pager! Haha nah, take your listing down unless you have another smartphone laying around. Not worth the inconvenience and the few bucks you save IMO.

Few bucks? Uh... after iPhone 6 gets announced expect your 5S to drop AT LEAST $50 in value... but probably more like $100 in value. I have done this every year, and it definitely pays off.

I used to do it but it's not worth it anymore in my opinion. Plus I've been spoiled by LTE and can't imagine going back to a 3G device for a month or so just for an extra $50-75. Not to mention the inferior camera and processor.

I sold my iPhone 5 for $475 last year about 3 weeks after the 5S was released so I was pretty satisfied with that result. It was a 32GB black slate unlocked model.

Gave my iPhone 5 to my wife and got a gs5 when it came out. I'm putting up with it until I can order the new iPhone.

I went back to the first iPhone so I can appreciate the new one more lol. Nah went back to the Note3 till launch time. Looking to get black i6 with the iTime smart watch  ⌚️

Lg g3. Great phone actually... But still planning on the next iphone, though I may wait and see what the next nexus and moto phones offer.

Pssh you guys think you are having it bad. I gave my iPhone 5 to my mom and am using a freaking Motorola Razr. Rofl

I'm saving by not using a data plan though:eek::D

LG G2. Gave my 5S to my grandson. I was in the Apple store yesterday and played with a 5S again. I love my G2, but the 5S is so freakin smooth. I will be getting the 4.7.

That's less than a month's worth of service on a $800 phone. To each their own, but it's not worth saving $75-$100 to go back to a 4/4S and non-LTE service for a month.

So having the latest tech in a month or two's time is worth using crappy old tech in the meantime? I'll take the hit and get what I can for my old phone as and when. If people are prepared to lay out big money for a sparkly new iPhone every year, then I'm sure they can take the small losses.

I don't sell my phones, or my iDevices in general.

I like to keep them as fancy, expensive paperweights :D

A very embarrassing Atrix 2 I bought for $50

I disagree but to each there own. I'd rather pocket the $100 and put it toward a new phone. I'm patient and value $100 at the sacrifice of having something not as great for a month

Lol same here. Its nice to have backups around just in case. Im going to keep my 5 and 5S when I get my 6. Maybe I will give the 5 to my dad to get him into the iOS ecosystem.

Likewise. A lot of my friends wanted to buy my 3GS when I was done with it, but I was so frustrated with the phone for almost a year straight that I skipped the cash and threw it against a brick wall as hard as I could. Quite satisfying.

An unlocked moto g. Its nice cheap phone but the iPhone 6 can't get here quick enough!

LG G3. Absolutely amazing phone. Does everything a smartphone should. Still going back to iPhone when it's released.:apple:

I usually do this, but won't be selling my 5S or my 5C for the 4.7" this go around.

I'll purchase on early upgrades. IF the 5.5" ends up existing, I might sell one of the two (5S or 5C) to help pay for it. Haven't decided yet.

Having a usable phone, avoiding annoyance, and having no hassle is worth $50 to me.

If you're fretting over $50, you really have no business dropping $650 on a smartphone.

It's not being unable to afford it. #1. I am eligible for an upgrade... so I'll only be spending $299 (middle storage option). #2. I think the price difference is more than $50 selling now vs. selling later. More like $100. I think $100 is worth it to use a 4S for a few weeks. The 4S is a solid phone and I use <1GB of data per month because of readily available WiFi. So I can live with EV-DO data for a few weeks.

Also... your argument it stupid. "If you're fretting over $50, you have no business spending $___ on a phone." I counter that by saying, the majority of those who have extra money, have it because of smart money making/saving decisions. Maybe I personally justify myself getting an iPhone yearly, because of how much I can get for a perfectly timed iPhone sale. It's is very presumptuous for you do assume that if someone sees the value trying to save $50, they must be "poor, financially struggling or unable to afford small luxuries." In your mind, do you think the only people that should have iPhones are those who can afford to wipe their rear with $100 bills?

Sadly I replaced my iphone 5 with a lg g2 almost a year ago. I could throw that thing against a brick wall. So now I'm using a 4s that a friend gave me until I can pay to upgrade on att even though my 12 month next isn't over.
I'm so glad they decided to give us a pay to upgrade option if our year wasn't over. Bring on iphone 6 :))

I'm still using my 5s, but I'm looking to pick up a 5c on the cheap before September so I can list my 5s on eBay and use the 5c until I get the 6.

Ah, the Atrix! Probably the worst call quality of all the cell phones I've owned. :D
