I believe that this might be a simular issue. I noticed when I use my 2015 iPad Pro connected to my new iPhone 17 PM using a hotspot the connection dropped twice.

I never had a dropped connection with my iPhone 15 PM in the exact place?

Problem solved by buying new wireless modul and it running fine. Setup: Mercedes S-class 2020, IP 17 Pro Max, Watch Ultra 3.

Shame on you Apple. Those are exepnsive toys and it has been reported week ago and what, nothing.

Here we are again. Dang...
Ok, connecting my iphone 17 pro to my car (Ford Galaxy, sync 3 I guess, USB A connectors only, EU version) via an USB A to USB C cable, EVEN with a high quality cable (mucho expensive and I've tested couple of those), the connection breaks down after 5 min or so. Like carplay just crushes and disconnects and mutes the audio. If I connect the phone via the original apple usb C to usb C cable using a tiny usb C to usb A adapter, all works just fine. This is ridiculous. Wireless carplay, ROFL, I guess I'm still living in a stone age here.

EDIT: I chose a differen USB-C + USB A adapter combo. It works like a charm. So my guess is: The USB A to USB C cables are not compatible with current iPhone 17 or carplay. USB C to USB C with an adapter will do it.

iPhone 17 Pro Max here with 2023 Honda CRV. No connectivity problems here. The only issue I'm having so far and, forgive me as I'm still new, is that Apple Music in CarPlay's song scrubbar only shows at what minute/second the song is at, touching the bar at any given area don't automatically play from that point. It's probably not programmed into the app. It's a minor thing but if there's a pay-for app that will do this, I'll be there. Loving the voice feature; click the button then say "Say song ____" or whatever and off it goes. 😍 That didn't work with the Android phone I'm replacing with the new iPhone.

Had my Apple CarPlay restart multiple times yesterday in my 2022 BMW 220d with iDrive 7 with my 17 Pro Max, usually this happens at tollgates due to the interruption of the e-tag readers, but yesterday it happened while driving on clear roads in between suburbs.

Today I did a few trips that were between 20-45mins each and it worked perfectly with no issues.

Then again this would also happen with my 15 Pro Max on iOS 18, so I don’t even think it’s specific to my 17 PM.

(I already posted it on Apple Discussions, posting here for visibility)

I upgraded from an iPhone 14 Pro Max to an iPhone 17 Pro Max two weeks ago. I'm already running the latest iOS 26.1. Shortly after, I started having intermittent issues with wired CarPlay, it would suddenly disconnect and reconnect. I didn't think much of it at the time, so I switched to wireless CarPlay and moved on.

Yesterday, things escalated. My Wi-Fi connection dropped suddenly, the Wi-Fi switch in Settings was grayed out, and the Wi-Fi Address in About showed as "N/A." At the same time, Bluetooth became completely unusable: it appeared enabled in Settings, but if I tried to turn it off, it would automatically re-enable after about 5 seconds. Worse, it stopped detecting any devices, I have an Apple Watch Ultra and the new AirPods Pro, but neither showed up.

I tried troubleshooting by resetting network settings, but that didn't help. I even restored the phone and tried latest iOS 26.2 beta (rolled-back afterwards), yet the behavior persisted. Occasionally (e.g., after turning off my Apple Watch or charging my AirPods), Wi-Fi would briefly revive and work normally for a few minutes, during which Bluetooth would also start detecting devices again, before everything died again. It feels like the network connectivity daemon in iOS is crashing, taking down all connectivity except cellular data.

(I'm not sure if this is related, but AirDrop has stopped working entirely as well.)

I spoke with Apple Support yesterday. They ran diagnostics, confirmed something was off with Bluetooth, and advised me to visit an Apple Store for physical tests. (I'll try to go this weekend, but I'll need to get through my workweek on cellular data only.)

At first, I suspected a dead modem chip, but after some online research, I'm convinced this ties into the documented N1 chip issues: iPhone 17 Pro: Air WiFi Cutting Out Issue. Those were supposedly fixed in the iOS 26.0.1 update, but clearly not in my case.

Has anyone in the community tried alternative troubleshooting steps that might resolve this? I'm still under warranty (less than a month old), so I think Apple would replace the unit, but I'm confident this is a software glitch, not hardware, and a replacement wouldn't necessarily solve the problem.

Also, has Apple officially acknowledged this issue and confirmed they're working on a fix?

Thanks, everyone!

Mine was resolved by a new cable but since iOS 26.1 I’ve had the issue return.

I’ve not reached out to Apple support…felt it would be impossible for them to diagnose an issue with the car

Neither my wife or I have had any disconnects/loss of WiFi on 26.1 in our Subaru. Didn't have it on iPhone 15 and now 17 Pro and Pro max. Works fine wireless and cable connected.
I wonder if those who are having problems have checked with car dealer(?) if there is an update to the car software supporting CarPlay?
