I have a 7th gen iPad that is limited to iPadOS 18. With the release of 18.7.7 it offered the update to me. It downloads just fine, and presents me with the Install button. Touching that, it grinds briefly saying Verifying Update, but then gives me a popup saying that 18.7.7 is temporarily unavailable (even though it just downloaded it). I've tried multiple times over 2 days, and have also rebooted the iPad for good measure and deleted the update download to force it to download again. Anyone else seeing this? Do I just need to keep trying or is there actually an issue?

I just did too! I thought that was weird as I had just updated to 18.7.7 a few days ago.. It looks like same version but the build number is different. 18.7.7 (22H333) is what I have on my 7th gen. iPad_10.2_18.7.7_22H340_Restore.ipsw is what was downloaded. I have to do it on my Mac cuz there isn't enough free space on the dumb thing to do OTA. I get some sort of denied message on the Mac when I try to do the update. I'll post the error after I try this again.

I was just asked to help someone with exactly this issue: 7th generation iPad that can't upgrade to 18.7.7: it's downloaded but won't install.

There are installation issues affecting at least some builds of 18.7.7.

I had no problems with an iPad Pro, but my iPhone XS failed after multiple attempts.

There are other reports as well.

It's not you, it's them, and until they either fix the what problems there are with the validation servers, or reissue some of the builds, one can only wait.

Yep, the hamsters powering the verification servers are now back on the job.

Previously downloaded payloads can now be installed, so seemingly, not a software issue.

Yup, mine is now updating! I wonder what this build number version update was about?.. I didn't look.

Looks like it was for some DarkSword exploit.. A little hiccup with this update but at least they finally resolved that issue.. Hope everyone has gone ahead and done this update.
