In the US it depends on which states the caller and receiver live. In the EU it's mandatory that both sides are aware of the recording.Violation can be a serious offense.

Just a random web search. https://www.vonage.com/resources/articles/call-recording-disclosure/
From the cited site: 1) US mostly have One party consent - which is just you 2) two party consent for some states may or may not require your phone playing anything annoying. Technically you can notify your friend while drinking beer with them that you always record phone calls, and that counts already. Nothing from Apple side is required! 3) the thing about EU and GDPR is completely irrelevant on what we are discussing - this covers businesses that record and process user data. If your phone is private and you are not recording clients call - it does not affect you.

In summary, all cases put responsibility to user discretion, so why Apple decides instead of us? Let them just set toggle and we decide!

Nope. In Germany (at least) you need two party consent, otherwise it is a criminal offense to record a phone call. This is not restricted to businesses. It is not a matter of GDPR, but of the general legislation.

I see you quoting wiki https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_call_recording_laws

Then please quote it till the end: “…Telephone recording by a private citizen can be allowed in cases of self-defence, § 32 of the German Criminal Code,[10] or Necessity, § 34 of the German Criminal Code.[11]

Considering this, how can I record call for self defense if BigBro Tim Cook decided to notify offending side?

I am most excited for the new Clean Up tool - to fix photos!

Probably many of us have been lusting for our equivalent of Google's Magic Eraser, ever since that tool was released a couple of years ago - amiright?!!

136k photos? How do you find anything?
LOL. I quickly search by captions I have added the past few years, locations, dates, months. Daily I go in and type in say 10.31 and every photo I have taken or saved on Oct 31st appears. This allows me to post older content from car/truck shows, events, etc. It blows my mind that Apple has removed the specific date and caption search functility. I'm not even trying to hate on them.. I'm a big Apple user.. I'm finally at a point where I am not updating to the latest iOS just because of it. Oh well. I'm sure Apple doesn't care.
