I Just called Verizon to find out what my early termination charge would be. It's $270. To upgrade to the 4S on Verizon would cost $650. To switch to At&T would cost 270 plus 199, total of $470. So it would be a $180 cheaper to switch to At&t. I think the monthly was also lower on At&T. While I have been happier, overall on Verizon, it hasn't been that noticeable. I would be giving up unlimited data, but I use only about 1gb a month anyway. I pointed all this out to the verizon rep, and she said there was nothing they could do about it. Quoted 40% better reliability and tiered text message plans. Seems like a pretty easy decision for me. Am I missing something?

If they won't give you the early upgrade price (I think 450) then it's absolutely smarter to switch. Assuming reception is similar in your location, the AT&T device is far superior.

You'll also GAIN talk and surf capability while on cell networks.

unlimited data > talk and surf..

Faster internet > unlimited data :p

Seriously though OP, Vote with your wallet and take your business elsewhere. I'd switch to another carrier (if not AT&T,then sprint)

ATT sucks in the main places I go, (Chicago, Vegas, L.A , and PHX) compared to Verizon where it has amazing coverage in these cities.

You're in BK so should get LTE with either. Personally I'd switch. Spending a lot of time there and using both providers. They're equal to me.

Think about who your most frequent contacts use. A lot of my contacts have AT&T so I don't need as much minutes due to free mobile to mobile in network.

You just responded to a thread from last year. I hope the OP isn't stuck in a time warp and still deciding on whether to upgrade to the 4S. ;)

Faster till what, 3.01gb? :D

Verizon has to play by certain rules when it comes to their LTE. Google it and you will find your answer why Verizon is better than AT&T for LTE.
