    hey all

i'd like to get a second display for my 15.4 2.2 macbook pro.

i've been eyeing this one from acer... it has great reviews

i do graphic design work, so i want a 20" with a high pixel density. i looked at a bunch of 17/19" but they are all 1440x900. if my 15.4 display is 1440x900, i can't imagine how that could look good at 19". anyone prove me wrong?

does anyone have any suggestions? i'm a college student (read: poor) so i can't really afford more than $250.

    thanks

My dell display is 19" @ 1440x900 and it looks wonderful. I just love the wide screen. Though it came with my computer, I believe it's around $199.

    Here's mine

    And another newer model.

I have a 19" LCD with 1440x900 and I hate it. (not that one, however). If you are like me, and love tight dot pitch and lots of resolution, I wouldn't recomment going 1440x900 on a 17" or 19".

yeah my thoughts exactly... i dont think they make 19" at anything except 1440x900... 20" is appealing because i dont need 22" or more (heck honestly i'd love a 17" or 19" with decent pixel density... but such is life) and the 20" has a native resolution that i see on most 22-24" displays. can anyone recommend anything better than acer? or something comparable?

I understand the student Budget thing, im a studet myself.
you should also check tigerdirect.com, they have a monitor on special every week. i bought a 20" widescreen Sceptre for my PC 2 years ago, It runs 1680x1050. The other day i saw an acer with the same size and resolution going for $200 on special 2 weeks ago. i what you need to decide wether you want widescreen or normal screen.

Pull the trigger on that monitor, here the same monitor at tiger Direct http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2943578&CatId=1410
