I was wondering about 1GB vs 2GB for months before I bought mine. I decided to go with 2GB and an 80GB HD for the main reason that I will have no regrets, and I wanted my Macbook to be as fast as possible, and now the only thing I might have to upgrade in the future is the HD, but I will probably just get an external for that.

What many people have told me is to not buy Apple RAM! That is how they make their money. I am ready to purchase a Macbook soon (already purchased accessories) and I also already purchased 2x1GB sticks off Newegg for less than $200 shipped 3 day.
