1password to strongbox or ? The Key is attachments being migrated

Hi All,

I've read most of the 1password migrants thread but I'll be honest from time to time it is a bit much. I've dabbled with strongbox for my new MacBook Pro. Not convinced but it more or less gets the job done.

BUT I have digitized all my important documents and keep a copy of everything in 1password. The attachments of course did not get transferred. I recently read that one can now export from 7.X to strongbox but I still have 6.X

Has anyone found a good password manager that also allows for attachments or is there a way that strongbox might be able to import from 1pwd 6.x (with some steps in-between) ? I only use Macs and iOS devices.

I switched to Bitwarden and they allow 1GB of attachments with the premium plan ($10 a year). I don't know if there's an easy way to export from 1PW 6.x and then import your files.

FYI, if you don't want your files on Bitwarden's servers then you'll have to use the self hosting option if you pick Bitwarden.

Good to know that is an option. Yes I would self host but I don't mind paying for the import feature. My data in the cloud freaks me out ( a bit). I'm sure their security protocols are better than mine but I like the option of being able to disconnect and KNOW my data is no longer online.

I was just looking at them and trying to see if the premium option allowed for selfhosting.

Just for full disclosure, self hosting isn't like 1PW6 where you just have a local vault. You have to run some form of a server (on a PC, device, etc) that you can connect to where your vault data will live.
