I recently got a first generation Apple TV from my Uncle. I would like to use a wireless keyboard which has a USB receiver. Is there a way to make my first generation Apple TV work with my USB keyboard without jailbreaking it or installing extra software (besides updates)?.
 
You need to patchstick it for it to work with an external USB keyboard. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to use the iOS Remote app to control it and enter text through it.
