Hi as stated this is my 1st mac. I have 2 targus all singing all dancing chargers but they don't do mac tips. I know modded tips are available (macguiver?) but they're more than buying an original.

I need possibly 2 extra chargers and have seen them advertised for around £15. Obviously not originals. Are these going to damage my lovely new air? Do you know of any alternatives? I see some chargers now have a usb port to charge your iphone simultaneously, is there one available for macbook air?

Thanks.

Has anyone got any other recomendations for spare chargers other than the genuine apple ones?

Thanks. Is that shipped to US? I'm in UK and shipping is expensive unfortunately.

I take it back. Received mine yesterday, was very excited.

Unfortunately, it won't charge my 11.6" Air. I get the plug icon in the battery, but it says, "Not charging."

A quick glance at System Profiler shows the following:

Needless to say, I was disappointed. I contacted the seller, who agreed to refund me via PayPal.

Notice the AC Charger information... Who knew that there was actual communication instead of just sending power? I hope Apple isn't blacklisting bad family or serial number IDs, or we could be screwed with only buying Apple-certified adapters.
