Looks like the iPhone 13 Pro Max is only 0.01 inch thicker than the 12 Pro Max. Should the 12 Pro Max silicone cases work with the 13? Any insight on button placement differences?

Camera module is larger and phone is thicker, so I am not sure it will be a good fit at all.
I saw a review before the announcement, that was showing the buttons are not identical, so you’ll need a new case
I was about to start a thread but found this so I'll ask here....Best Buy is currently selling a leather case that they are advertising as BOTH 12 PM and 13 PM???
So, is best buy confused or are the cases actually compatible?

Because the canera module on the 13PM is larger than the 12PM and most cases have cutouts to fit the smaller camera module. The 13PM won’t fit in these.
The button configuration is different but not significantly. This will be a toss-up depending on the case.
A 12PM will most likely fit and work in a 13PM case (mine does) but you will notice a gap in coverage by the camera module.

Otterbox Defender Pro for the iPhone 12 Pro Max will not fit the iPhone 13 Pro Max perfectly. First, the camera cutout is slightly askew and then the iPhone 12 Pro Max model also lacks the cutout for the speaker above the face id array. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is great fit with no material quality issues that I found on the iPhone 12 Pro Max model. The buttons are a little stiff but I have only had mine 24 hours. It feels a little less bulky than the iPhone 12 Pro Max model which was already slimmed down.
