iPod touch 1st Time buyer/user

So I get the new Touch home, plug it in and all I get is a picture of a cable and iTunes logo. Can't go anywhere, no icons, nothing. No instructions, just the cable and itunes logo. What now friends?

Do you meet the system requirements? Have you updated your system? Is the iPod connected through a USB 2.0 port?

Make sure you are updated to iTunes 8.2 and then plug the device into your computer and do a restore on it. 🙂
