Does anyone know when we can expect 1.5GB and 2GB internal 3.5" hard drives? Which manufacturer will most likely be the first one out?

I'd assume 1.25 or 1.5TB drives will be out midway through this year. If they can get 320GB onto one platter now, that's 1.6TB with five platters.

6.4TB with four drives. Oh, the Mac Pro... :D

Of course, 1.6TB is around 1.3 when you consider the manufacturer/OS differential.

wish they would hurry up and come out. that way it would reduce the 1tb HD price by a bit, so i can finally afford it :) ive got a spare ext HD slot just wishing to be used!

It will be nice as there will finally be hard drives with 1TB real capacity. Oh how nice it will be to look at the bottom of the finder window and see "1TB free" instead of "936GB free".
