1TB, Time Machine and extras

hi guys,

Im thinking of buying a 1TB,but I want to use it for time machine and also backing up data. If this is all possible, Do I have to format the hard drive to a specific type?

Time Machine will format it for you.

You're better off using Disk Utility to partition the drive into your Time Machine section and then a data one.
