Struggled with the upgrade all day yesterday. When it finally clicked, no mention of the charge but my purchase history shows the $9.95. I'm willing to part with $10 for the additional widgets...and I'm enjoying AOL music in my living room now...well worth it to get some great free apps.

I downloaded it free from apple over http.
*see the ipod hacks section for the link*

Have not fired up itunes yet to install it.

Since I dont have an itunes account I will not be paying anyone anything.

i clicked "check for updates" on my itunes, and it mentioned 2.0, but not a price. i'm downloading now, and will check to see if i'm charged. i hope i'm not. i bought my ipod touch on ebay, and am not sure of the manu.date. .

I consider myself and Apple even. $20 in January. The 10th I updated both my old Touch and the brand new on I just bought my wife for free. Apple already had $20 from me. $10+$10 I didn't pay = that $20. Works for me. $10 is about right for email, which is the only one of those January apps I really use.
