I figured we'd need one of these to help us who are having problems with the upgrade.

This is the first apple product I've had, and upgrading to 2.01 has failed on my iphone. I get error 13.

I'm trying to restore but I keep getting error 13.

"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

So restore it. It'll restore up to 2.0.1. If that doesn't work, get iTunes 7.5.

That failed the first two times.

I connected the factory iphone cable to the usb port on the computer and that seems to be doing the trick... for now. I had been using a USB cable extension prior to that.

The phone sits with an apple logo for 15-20 minutes before it will get to a point where another attempt at a restore can be made.

Mine failed to install, got an "error (-1)" and then my phone was stuck with a spinning restore wheel. I had to do a reset which put it into restore only mode. The restore process completed successfully and it now I am restoring from my last backup, which is taking around 1 hour. What a nightmare for what I thought would be a straightforward upgrade process.
