I just had to replace a laptop so I ordered up a new macbook 2.0GHz. I'm going to upgrade the ram to 2GB. I going to buy it from OWC, I'm a past customer. I can get 2 - 1GB or 1 - 2GB for $49.95. Is one option better than the other? Also I can sell my ram back that comes with the macbook for $8.00, computer is used in a business so every dollar counts.
Any thoughts?

2 sticks will give slightly better performance, but if you think you'll be upgrading in the future, you might as well go for the single stick. The performance boost really isn't as significant as people make it out to be :)

I'd go with 1 stick of 2 gig, so in the future should you ever decide you need more ram... you only need to buy 1 more stick.

What RAM came preinstalled? I would keep 512Mb in Slot 1 and a 2Gb in Slot 2 then later replace the 512 with another 2Gb if needed.
