Well it seems the dev team has already jaikbroken the 2.2 os according to their own official site and iphoneatlas.

The question i have is how do we backup our current state of tue 2.1 os.
Like many here i have a bunch of changrs i do not want to redo when i upgrade whenever 2.2 hits...

So what tools from cydia or method using ssh should we emlpoy?

in cydia there is an app called aptbackup... it backs up your cydia apps and when you get the new firmware you just install aptbackup again and click restore

It doesn't back up your apps. It backs up which apps you have installed and then reinstalls them for you as fresh installs.
