2.2 is Close: Jailbreak Help

Being a DarkSide newcomer.. I'd like to prepare in advance for Firmware 2.2. I know it's already jailbroken, but I'd like to know the process.

Once 2.2 goes live, how do I install it and still keep my JB? I'm assuming you install 2.2 and then JB again. Is that correct?

What are the steps? Thanks in advance! 🙂

you restore with new FW then you have to download all the apps from cydia again.

Sync and backup then see the stickies at the top of this thread. Also check out iClarified.com for some good tutorials.

Not sure if they fixed the apps thing with qwkpwn, but I had to uninstall all my apps prior to jailbreaking. Then reinstall afterwards.

i thought i read somewhere that there is an app that will put secret files in itunes or something so we dont need to redownload apps again?

What that app does is record the jailbreak apps you have and if you restore, you re-download that app, run it, and it finds and re-installs the apps you used to have.

Don't update until the new jailbreak is posted.

You will have to re-install all of your jailbroken apps.

There is an app on Cydia, called, "AptBackup." It will create a list of your Cydia apps, and after you update to 2.2, you install it again, and it will download that list again.

It won't restore your settings, but at least you'll get everything back.

Anything that you do with SSH though, will need to be done again.
