The phone is definitely saving recent searches or locations I guess. I don't know if it's been documented but if you visit a bookmark, it takes the usual time to load and identify, drop the pin, all the good stuff (over edge).

Then, go to another bookmark, the same thing happens. Go back to bookmark 1 and it will drop that pin on a fully-loaded screen at like warp speed. It must be remembering in a cache or something.

Is that new? Never noticed it before.
 
How do you use Street View on 2.2? I turned my phone to landscape in a place that has street view (checked on Google Maps on my MBP) but nothing happens. 😕

It's quite confusing at first. Open maps, then go to the flap tab on the bottom right, then hit drop pin, drop the pin on a street view road, then hit the person.
