2.2ghz+7200rpm or 2.4ghz+5400?

Hi,
I have a quick question for you guys...
I was wondering which of these computer configurations would provide better overall performance. Both are the new macbook pro!

2.2 ghz
2gb ram
160gb @7200rpm

or

2.4 ghz
2gb rm
160gb @5400rpm

I got the 2.4 ghz and the 7200. I guess if you really want to copy date, and do final cut stuff, really really fast go for the 7200. Thats pretty much all I take from it.

isnt the 2.4 only the 17"? Also if you want that extra space over the 15" then go for that. In my opinion, it will last longer. I don't want to have to buy a computer every year

Umm, no...there is a 2.4 15 inch MBP, not just a 17.

It depends on what you will be using the computer for, so be more specific. For some, the VRAM is very important.

well, I mainly use my computer for:
itunes, ripping/burning dvds (which compresses video), internet, adobe products and word processing...

lol, you can't just slip adobe in there with itunes and such...what adobe programs, and in a professional capacity?

haha, sorry....i use photoshop and image ready.
Between the two configurations, I'm mainly concerned with the ability to run more than a couple of programs at once without the computer lagging too much...

Well, then either should work, as they both have the same amount of ram.

I'd get the 2.4ghz model. It doesn't seem to me that 5400rpm would slow you down much, and you can always upgrade the hard drive. But if sometime down the road you want a better video card, you won't be able to get it on the 2.2.
Get the 2.4 and upgrade the hard drive yourself when your budget allows. You can always upgrade the drive, but never the CPU or video card.

Well, I said that since A LOT of people on this forum would upgrade the hard drive themselves for reasons like that or just to save money over what Apple would charge them. You can upgrade the drive and the computer will still be covered, just not the drive. That sounds pretty typical.
