1. landscape texting
2. Ability to forward a message
3. Ability to delete part of a conversation

I think that's it

Landscape texting is already available via a 3rd party app, but guess it'd be cool if it was there without the need.

Message forwarding is a must. Not too bothered about deleting parts of conversations..

Actually individual SMS deletion would be my #1 hope, followed closely by SMS forwarding. I would rather not do anything (other than games and watching videos) in landscape.

I miss the forward function from old phones most of all.

People text me jokes, but I have no way of forwarding them onto other people other than sitting and typing them in again. Which is just stupid.

Slowly but surely, I'm dropping off all my friends' SMS jokes buddy list as I don't send them any :(

This is the same post we've seen multiple times, just with the version number updated. If it doesn't come with 2.3 then in a few months we'll see 2.4 must haves. Those things will come when they come. Or not.

landscape.
ichat? (not with video obviously)
maybe the ability to change the colors of the text bubbles

5. Ability to cancel the message after hitting "Send".

I always wondered why there's even a progress bar. Why not just make the message appear that it's been sent and then the iPhone could secretly still be sending it in the background. Why does it have to block out the keyboard to send a message?

Well unless you reach the character limit and need to finish in a second message, I don't see a reason you'd need a keyboard while your message is sending.

IMO if you sending that long of a message, you should either be talking or chatting.

This isn't txting related, but how about being able to delete an individual phone call from the list of received calls. Currently, you have to clear the entire list.

In a very low signal area it doesn't fail until nearly the end of the bar.

How would you get notified it hadn't gone through?

I'd love an option to insert contact info or address into a text message. There are a lot of time someone will text me looking for a number and I'll open the SMS to view the text, open contacts to view the number, hope to memorize it and then text it back. Same thing with address. google maps already lets you share the info via email, but sends a link not just the address.

I'd also like for an address sent to be clickable the same way an email address or phone number is.

There is an App called FreeContact that does something sort of like what you are talking about, but not exactly. It allows iPhone users to email contacts as documents from the phone. :)

When I make dumb typo like put "duck" instead of "fu^k", I send a message asap with the correction.
