People just keep in mind that Apple is all about simplicity.
They don't want to make iPhone stuff more complex.

Many of these things would make the phone simpler to use, not more complex. Not being able to forward a text so you have to copy it out on to a piece of paper and then type it back in again to resend it is not simpler.

Agreed. Another basic function left out for no reason whatsoever...

This is the same post we've seen multiple times, just with the version number updated. If it doesn't come with 2.3 then in a few months we'll see 2.4 must haves. Those things will come when they come. Or not.

So what! As you can see some people DONT care. Not everyone spends so much time reading forums, so they dont see the "other" threads. When YOU see it's a double/tripple thread use the back button on your keyboard and let those that are not complaining enjoy the thread!

Or does it make you a better man when you take the time to post and complain? STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT DOUBLE POSTS PEOPLE. It's getting old and you guys that do it just makes others think you are bunch of loosers with nothing else to do

Go hug one of your loved ones instead.

losers

And I'm at work on a Saturday, so I really don't have anything else to do, which is why I have time to correct your spelling errors.

I'm not disagreeing with you though. I think all topics should be open for discussion on an open forum. Maybe that's just us though.

so sick of people saying they need landscape texting, thats retarded. its perfect just the way it is, im sorry if some people arent smart enough to figure out how to text on it fast vertically.

while vertical the keyboard is barely smaller then a blackberry or other pda phones, BUT u get some room for error because of auto correct.

people just dont get the idea of aiming their entire finger for the letter rather than trying to pin point the tip of their finger on each letter.

uggh

sorry, just hear this every day at work from ignorant consumers who havent even tried it.

just venting!

I don't think the inability to type on the portrait keyboard is a result of lack of smarts. Rather, I would say fat fingers or lack of coordination would account for most of the user error. :D;)

Wow. Have you even considered that some of the users who need landscape might have bigger hands?

Or is your brain as small as your fingers..

The only thing I really care about is the ability to turn off the 'triple alert' on incoming texts. Sometimes I read them but don't want to unlock the phone.
An option to turn it off would be great.
Is this an option for jailbroken phones?

I'm right there with ya mate. I wish...

Unfortunately there isn't, as far as I know.

i see huge people come in my store all the time that can type just fine, as long as you aim your whole finger for the letter youre golden.... its when people think their fingers are too big and they start trying to pin point each letter that they run into problems.

its fine, leave it.

Well my wishlist is pretty simple.

I can take or leave Landscape texting, however I can definitely see why some people would really like it.

Forwarding Messages - It's ridiculous they haven't included it. I can't find a phone that doesn't have that feature!

Delete individual messages - definitely

But the big one for me is why the hell can't the sms message font sizes be adjusted like it can in Mail and Safari. I find reading the messages quite tough at times due to being partially blind and although I'm in the minority of the population, Apple SUPPOSEDLY prides themselves on making the iPhone's "Accessibility Features" a selling point. It actually mentions it on their website regarding the iPhone's feature set. Sadly, it appears they think that visually impaired people don't use SMS.

My Blackberry could do all of the above, however being a work toy I'm not allowed to do anything with it - Gotta love BES Policy Management!

Aside from that rather annoying omission, I'm very happy with it.
Cheers

These are the posts I just don't understand. It's fine for you, great. It's fine for me, awesome. But does it make a difference to you if they add portrait typing? Would that somehow adversely affect your typing vertically? If anything this would help you, because you'd have less customers complaining.

I feel there are so many people on this board that feel because they don't need something, or something works for them, that it's a complete waste, and I don't get it.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see what the big deal is if they add something people would like to use.

Landscape texting is one thing I don't want to see. It would make texting in bed a nightmare, similar to trying to browse music.

Or if they do do it they should have an option to turn all the accelerometer stuff off. I never ever want to use it, trying to change a song when lying in bed takes forever and I never want to use cover flow. Much much easier just scrolling through the artists/albums.

What I don't understand is why when using the iPod function and it goes to coverflow, it does it for the entire album. If I'm playing a playlist, shouldn't the playlist be coverflow?

Sorry to get off topic, but it seemed relevant.

yea because if im being lazy in bed and wanting to text it will keep turning to landscape while in laying down. does it in the ipod all the time its the most annoying thing when im scrolling through music and cover flow pops up.

it would be fine if they had a switch to turn accelerometer off in those particular apps
