are the processors in the 2.4ghz macbook and 2.4ghz macbook pro the same? as in, do they have the same size of L2 cache? I know the 2.53ghz and up use 6mb of L2 Cache, but does the 2.4 in the base pro use 3mb, as is the case with the macbook, or 6mb?😕

Yes, you are correct about the cache.

If you look at MacWorld's benchmarks, the 2.4 MB is pretty much on par with the 2.4 MBP in every test they did.
