That doesn't look like a watch.

You don't spend millions in R&D, and hire former executives from Yves St. Laurent and Burberry, only to turn around and release that POS.

The problem is, that you don't want to touch your watch to ser what time it is. It should be always on. Love the Pebble with e-ink. It's really great that you just look at it, and it's there!

Looking so much forward to seeing how Apple rethinks the watch. Probably buying it anyways :D

You shouldn't expect it to look like a watch, any more than you should expect it to look like any of the awful concepts MR thinks deserve our attention.

Another idea for samsung. Before the iwatch its released maybe samsung will have released the 4th generation of whatever gear

really?

a 2.5" iphone screen strapped to your wrist is as impractical as a rotary phone strapped to an ipod.

I hope apple chooses form over function and makes the iwatch look like a watch, as opposed to an iPhone on your wrist. And personally, I think square watch faces are ao 80s-90s. Round is classic.

Just don't see any watch really selling; no matter what the design or os. Remember calculator watches?

If it doesn't look like a watch, then what is the point? I can run out and buy a crappy Samsung watch or a pebble.

Ridiculous garbage, only redeemed by the fact it looks better than all the ridiculous garbage being shovelled out by the Android camp this week.

How about somebody does a mockup of an actual genuine use case for these things? Who wants to send and receive texts only three words long? Who wants a wrist full of notifications telling that they need to pull their phone out of their pocket. Anyone not actively walking, talking or driving probably has their phone out anyway.

The video was all right, but did anyone else think the music was just tops? I also liked their logo at the end. Good stuff.

The video looked cool,I don't think the iWatch (if there is one) will look like this though. However,I loved the music. I played the video 3 times just to hear the music.

Still not as a bad as the Garmin Forerunner 201 I once had (early GPS watch, 3.3x1.7x.7"), but then again, that was so chunky that I ended up returning it. Really hope we don't see 2.5" here.

I half agree with you... but then again... back in early Jan of 2010 I would have agreed with "I'd be disappointed if my iTablet was just iPhone OS with a larger screen" but that's exactly what Apple did and they made it work with the simplicity. I can easily see Apple doing the same thing with the iWatch (especially if the 2.5" screen is accurate). Adjust a few apps, take out a few apps, add a few apps, add some sensors, and bam iOS on a wrist. I mean that's exactly what they are doing in the car.

well, the iPad expanded on what the iPhone couldn't do: bigger screen. It made sense.

If the watch is just iOS on a wrist, those health sensors must be out of this world to make any impact. Otherwise, it's just a lesser iOS device in which I rather pull out my iPhone to do whatever I need to do.

You remember the 6. Gen Nano?

The 6.Gen Nano is WAY closer to the real deal then all this "Designer" Humbug "with its much ado about nothing" concept videos. Sometimes I would love to rip apart the Diplomas of these so called Designers or what ever they'll give them after graduation.

The 6th. Gen Nano could have survived if people would have not used it as a watch instead. Its design was to early to be what people wanted it to be but still its the better mockup of the upcoming iwatch.

I see the iwatch being more of a classic watch design, with the bulk of the UI being on the iphone or ipad. I really doubt there will be app icons on the watch itself.

I still think this one is better. I like the band on it.

Can't wait to see Samsung make bigger watches. 2.5" is so 2007. I need me a phabtabwatchlet

My iWatch

Here's my version of the iWatch, in faux viral form:

It's all-CGI and done in LightWave. I think I'll do a more formal demo video for fun.

After wearing a magic band at Disney I am curious as to how they are going to address fit. The magic band has a much smaller rigid portion and still very few people can wear it comfortably because it doesn't bend around your wrist and not everyones wrists are the same size. I ended up having to turn it over to make it not feel really weird which is ok with a band on a week long trip but not OK when its a relatively expensive watch I would want to wear everyday

It's like wearing a 7th Gen Nano on your wrist. It may work and sure it has heaps of bells and whistles but it's bulky and not really a 'watch'.

They need to work on the watch first and foremost and then fit everything into that form factor, not the other way around.
