I ordered the 2.8 version just to make my investment more "futureproof".
But now that I've read the Gizmodo review, I'm even happier of my choice
After all, this 2.53 GHz processor is a Penryn, as the 2.6 GHz, so it's normal that the 2.6 is faster (just a little bit) in raw calculation, even if the difference is just 70 MHz.
Now imagine when the difference is 270 MHz
Seen as the geekbench & xbench show so little difference between the 2.4 macbook and the 2.53 MB pro I think maybe the 2.53 is a good choice. I'm just surprised that the old 2.6 beasts the 2.53 in the CPU stakes - there is 0.1 GHz either way (comparing the old 2.6 & the new MB 2.4 with the 2.53 pro) yet you get vastly different results
