I ordered the 2.8 version just to make my investment more "futureproof".
But now that I've read the Gizmodo review, I'm even happier of my choice :)

After all, this 2.53 GHz processor is a Penryn, as the 2.6 GHz, so it's normal that the 2.6 is faster (just a little bit) in raw calculation, even if the difference is just 70 MHz.
Now imagine when the difference is 270 MHz :D

I got the 2.8ghz just because i could. I no it wont make a hell of a lot of difference now, but it may do in the future etc.

Has it arrived yet? Is there any chance you could xbench & geekbench test it so we can compare the 2.53 to it? That would really help, thanks

+1 for 2.5

Seen as the geekbench & xbench show so little difference between the 2.4 macbook and the 2.53 MB pro I think maybe the 2.53 is a good choice. I'm just surprised that the old 2.6 beasts the 2.53 in the CPU stakes - there is 0.1 GHz either way (comparing the old 2.6 & the new MB 2.4 with the 2.53 pro) yet you get vastly different results
