It's all in good fun. I meant no disrespect. I shouldn't have had to prove myself though. You could have just taken my word for it.

It wasn't meant to challenge your word. I've been thinking about getting another one, and would prefer new over refurb. Sheesh!

It's cool

I apologize for the misunderstanding. The web's a deaf place, there is no way to decipher someone's in⋅to⋅na⋅tion. I'm glad to help though.
BHPHOTO.com is were I got mine. They have free shipping and no taxes. If you do a search you can find other early '08 models for sale with different configurations on their site.

My early-2008 MBP that I bought a week ago was built Week 40, which I was assuming would be one of the last weeks of production since Week 40 = the first week of October. I just hope I don't have video card issues.

Mine is W8840XXXXX as well, and the university that I attend had (80) MBP 2.5GHz 250GB (selling at $1544 OTD included AppleCare and HP Printer) delivered in November '08 and now they are sold out. Another university bought (60) of the same MBP, but sold only thirty of them b/c their price is $200 (for $1521 OTD w/o AppleCare, but the same printer) more and they had them delivered in September '08 and paid a higher price per unit...

my bad I should have said 2.53 ghz unibody mbp. sorry for the confusion.
