I just got my Moniswitch in the mail today. I hooked'er up to my PC and my G4 and I'm happy as can be. I don't know how much $$$ you have to spend, but you might look at some of Belkin's KVMs. Belkin has a KVM that switches audio too (me, I'm just using a Y-cable to connect my PC and Mac to the same set of speakers) and the Belkin KVMs allow for switching via a hot key(s). The MoniSwitch is a physical switch, knob actually, so it needs to be someplace w/easy access. I have mine sitting on top of my Quicksilver (and the switch is silver so it kinda matches) which is right under my desk next to my leg. So a quick reach and I can switch no sweat. But if you want a switch that can be out of sight then check out Belkin. But, the Belkin's don't come w/cables ($25 or $30 for cable kit PER computer).

I have 2 computers and 2 displays. I'd like to use both displays on both computers but that costs too much money (dual monitor KVM ain't cheap). So I use 2 displays for my Mac ('cause that's what I edit on) and 1 display for my PC ('cause that's what I do general purpose stuff on).
