Does it affect the computer negatively if you get your ram from two different sources. its the same type, 2700, just different manufacturers. or does it not matter
 
It does not matter, provided that both modules are Mac compatible.

The Powerbooks do not use dual-channel memory access, so there is no need for matched pairs of memory. The PowerMac G5 towers must have matched pairs.

I suggest to buy only from a seller that offers a written guarantee of compatibility with your model Mac.
