If two Homepods are connected in stereo, will they work in stereo if connected to a MacBook Air as a stereo link or do the left and right Homepods work singularly as a left speaker, and right speaker individually.

when using Airplay, say from YouTube or an app on your phone they are exclusively a stereo pair.

On the Mac and only the Mac you can direct audio individually to one or the other HomePods through sound/output. I prefer to listen to spoken word from one side of the room so it is a nice feature, wish I could do it from iOS.
