2 humans, 1 apple ID

Tho sharing an apple id is against the terms and conditions of the account.... It's not made to be shared.

Can you point out where it says that (honest question - our family is using the same ID for our purchases because I couldn't find anything saying it wasn't permitted)?

I've read through my EULA:

And can't find anywhere that prohibits sharing an apple id. Closest reference I found appears to implicitly allow it, since the only way to download an app is to log into the App store with my id:

(i) If you are an individual acting in your personal capacity, you may download and use an application from the Mac App Store ("Mac App Store Product") for personal, non-commercial use on any Apple-branded products running Mac OS X (“Mac Computer”) that you own or control.

Give me a break. When my wife and I got our first iTunes account there was no way to share iTunes store music between accounts. So we shared one ID.

You're saying we should have bought every iTunes song TWICE and just kept 2 copies on our computer?

If that's what Apple wanted us to do then they shouldn't be surprised that people "bent" the rules. That's insane.

So as a result...we now share an Apple ID for iTunes.

Can you tell me how I can accomplish this with my wife and our iPhones? How can you share an Apple ID if it tells you it is already in use? How do you get around that?😕

If you're getting an "Already in use" error, it sounds to me like you're trying to CREATE a NEW Apple ID. You just need to put your existing Apple ID's info into the iTunes and App Store info.

Keep in mind that this is different from an iCloud ID. It's best, IMO, to have seperate iCloud accounts. (Unless you WANT to share Contacts, PhotoStreams, iMessages, Bookmarks, etc.)

I would love to! However, I don't know how to do it? Any tips?

Are you referring to entering the Apple ID on the iPhone? And, are there restrictions on when you can do it? Say on activation or can you do it anytime?

You can set the Apple ID for App Store and iTunes Store purchases at any time. Go to Settings -> Store -> Apple ID. Put in your ID and password for your existing Apple ID that you've used to purchases. Do this on both phones.
