My wife and I both have iphones, mine existing and hers newly bought. On her iphone I decided to sign her in to my own itunes account to save her farting around with creating a separate account and so she could share my itunes credit. Much to my surprise when I downloaded a couple of apps that I thought she could do with as I already owned them, a popup message came through stating that I had already purchased the app therefore the download was free.

Is this normal? Or is it a bug that apple has overlooked? Or am I simply doing something illegal?

Apps belong to the account not the device. An account holder can install apps on as many devices as they own.

Thanks for that, I didnt want to think I was ripping any developers off by doing this.
