I have 2 Mac Pro 5.1 with OC 0.7.4 and Monterey working perfect except Bluetooth... I can fix it!

I have an upgraded wifi+bluetooth card in the miniPCIe in the mainboard, with Bluetooth disabled (cable disconnected) and, with BigSur and Mojave was using a dongle USB Bluetooth 4.0 working fine... till the upgrade to Monterey...

What can I do?

Which model of wifi+bluetooth card do you have attached to the mini-PCIe ?
Why did you did disconnect bluetooth cable ?

Looks like your CSR BT chipset based dongle is not supported in Monterey.

I don’t remember exactly, BCM94360 i think…

Which dongle will be compatible?

You check which version you have installed by using the System Profiler (click on the Apple logo on the menu bar and select About this Mac).

If it is BCM94360 then it has BT 4.0.
You said that you disconnected the USB BT cable but why ?

Yes, IIt's BT 4.0 and I disconnected the USB BT cable to diablee it, because I have a lots of issues with the lose of BT signal... for this reason I install a USB Dongle and this issue disappear...

That looks like device info for BCM94360CD so BT should work.
Looks like you may have wiring issue with the BT antenna connections if have signal issue.
Remember, you need an antenna EXTENSION cable from the BCM94360CD to the exiting BT antenna wire.
They are very difficult to connect together.

Also you remembered to disconnect the existing Mac Pro BT adapter from the mainboard connector, right ?

Or, consider getting a new adapter for mini-PCIe and a new wifi/BT card as you may have a faulty board/adapter.
I use BCM943602CDPAX and works great.

See this thread.

Regarding, BT dongles I don't know of any recent new ones that Monterey.
I do have a Belkin Mini USB Bluetooth Dongle Adapter - F8T016 that works with Big Sur for basic keyboard/mouse support but it's does not provide handoff, etc support as it's not BT 4.0.

The problem with dongles that are NOT made by Apple, is that they do not get their firmware updated at boot time and sometimes can lead to compatibility issues. They are BT Fix kexts that can be loaded by OpenCore to get around this. But it's a hack.

Check this article for possible dongles.

Time ago, when I replaced the original wifi miniPCIe card, I did the correct installation and extension of the BT cable... and works fine, but with a los of lost connections... Asking here, following the recommendations I put a USB dongle and all problems finish... untill now.

It's a strange thing, because tonight reconnect the power data connector to the BT of the BCM94360CD, and BT is working again, BUT, I can't pair new periphericals, Airdrop didn't work and...

"power connector to the BT" ??? There's NO power connector to the BCM94360CD. There is a DATA connector labelled D+ and D- which are the USB data signals to the BT part of that module.

That screen shot shows THIRD_PARTY_DONGLE which looks like your EXTERNAL USB dongle.
Remove it. If you have removed it already and you still get that screen shot then it looks like your BCM94360CD is a fake Chinese copy.

Yes, DATA conector, I was wrong to write it.

At this moment, it's all ok but AirDrop don't work... this is the new screenshot:

When I transfer, for example, a photo from iPhone to Mac Pro by Airdrop, the iPhone show a successfully operation, but in the Mac I only see jump the Downloads dir in the Dock...

It's a SH|T!!! I solved it in one, in the other I did the same things, inclusive change the BCM94360CD to a BCM943602CDP without and change... Updated OC to Marvin's 0.7.5, removed and plugged the Butetooth Dongle 4.0....

Nothing, BT in this MacPro 5.1 2012 single proccessor don't want to work...

I don't know the next step...

Did you manage to solve it?
I have the same chipset in my USB Bluetooth dongle. All was fine in Big Sur (booting using OpenCore). Same setup after uppdate to Monterey and Bluetooth dongle isn’t recognized anymore.

I was formatted and do a fresh install... Dongle works like a charm again.

@donvito4ever what version of Monterey are you running? Your sig doesn't mention, and neither does the main post. I know there were BT issues on 12, 12.0.1 and 12.1, but they all got fixed on 12.2...

12.2 for me. I’ll see if I can reset all Bluetooth settings – maybe something happened in the update from Big Sur to Monterey or there’s a setting in OpenCore that works when it comes to Bluetooth in Big Sur but not in Monterey.

I'm using this bluetooth adapter and everything is working perfectly, and I have no sleep / wake issues.

Running Monterey 12.2

Good for you! :)
That chipset seems to have native support in Monterey.

I think this is the problem:

Legacy Bluetooth Support dropped in macOS Monterey

Doesn't mention anything about CSR8510 A10 though.

Maybe I can go out and get a more modern USB Bluetooth dongle that works. Don't need Wifi.

Edit:
Solved it!
I enabled the kernel extension BlueToolFixup.kext

I was more sharing the card for people looking at upgrading in the future.

Means, my BCM20702B0 card is fully supported in Monterey?

Or do I need a newer one like the BCM20703A2?
Seems it has native support according to this article (same as I linked to above):

Currently the following chipsets have native support within macOS:
  • BCM20702 (Bluetooth 4.0)

A few weeks ago, I had faced this BT problem on mac. And now I'm using a Bluetooth adapter, and everything is going well.
I was trying to solve the issue but I couldn't. But to me, using a dongle seems to solve the Mac's Bluetooth problem easily.

By the way, here's the Hideez dongle that I used to fix Mac's Bluetooth problem. And this is 4.0 BLE technology.

Basically, I'm using this dongle for mice, keyboard, speakers, and headphones. There are also have many other features.
If you fail to set up with mac, just follow the setup instructions of Hideez. It will be more easy for you.
