Is there a way to connect 2 monitors to the MacBook air m1?
I am sure I saw a video of one dude who did it with the lid close(when it was open it did not work), and I am sure this was not with displaylink.
I don't want to buy displayLink because I already bought HDMI to Usb c and USB c hub..

No. Unless you want to go the DisplayLink route, the M1 and M2 MBA only support one external monitor.

Even with the lid closed the M1 and M2 laptops can only drive one external display without DisplayLink. There's no workaround for this as its a hardware limitation.

The only possibility to support more than one monitor without DisplayLink is with an HDMI splitter that presents itself to the computer as a single e.g. 5120x1440 display and splits that into two 2560x1440 outputs, one with the left half and one with the right half. But these adapters are rare, which probably makes them expensive, and I expect it to suck because "full screen" covers both monitors. So the short answer is "no", like the others said.

I've used such a setup. The shortcomings are exactly as described.
