I'd like to permanently attach two external 2.5" bus-powered Firewire hard drives to an iMac 8.1 but worry if the iMac has enough power available for this?
The drives in question are both G-tech G-drive Mini.
I also plan to buy another external 2.5" Firewire drive which attaches to the other Firewire port. It'll be used for a weekly off-site backup and will of course be disconnected as soon as the backup is done (but at this stage the iMac will have 3 bus-powered hard drives attached). I'm considering the Western Digital My Passport Studio for the latter.
