Are you looking at the newest generation of MBP? If so they actually have a mini display port for video out and a SD card slot instead of the expresscard3/4.

Hahahah! Exactly!

...coming to a site like this for this type of advise, you'll have haters and fanboi's...

Do you're own research on places like cnet and consumer reports, go look at machines and then decide what is right for your wallet.

I was determined to stay as far away from winVista as possible and so far my iMac and whitebook have been good purchases for my choices.

Good luck with your decision.

Good answer... I started to say there isn't any!!

However, I think Dell (my job STANDS by it) is good and might be something to look into.

I've built a dozen or so PCs in the past. I'm no expert, but I'm no spring chicken either. You can absolutely get a PC with similar hardware for significantly cheaper ... but it can't run OSX.

Microsoft lost me about 5 years ago. I'd had it with stability issues in Windows and being a music producer, Mac was the way to go. I'm certainly not saying that I've never had a crash in OSX but it's MUCH less frequent.

AVG, spybot, adaware, etc ... sooooo glad I don't have to worry about that any more. What a weekly waste of time that was.

I haven't looked back a day since I bought my G4. I enjoy how intuitive the OS is and the interface is very easy to navigate. Windows 7 shows promise but I still think OSX SL is ahead of the game. I hope Microsoft turns it around and gives Apple something to worry about ... competition breeds inovation.

Hardware doesn't sum it all up unless the system runs smoothly and in my experience my Macs have all been butter ;)
